A Few Tips from an Educator on How to Support Your Students During this Pandemic:

Here is an informative article from Mays Imad, a pathophysiology and biomedical ethics instructor at Pima Community College. You can read more about her teaching strategies here.

Some of her tips to educators include:

  • Emailing students to remind them that you are there for them

  • Repeat some of the main takeaways students should be getting from their new online lessons. For many students, a switch to online learning is a huge transition and may impact the information they are retaining from the lessons.

  • Using optimistic language while also acknowledging their fears about COVID-19

A Message to Students:

Please remember to be understanding and respectful towards your instructors as they, too, are navigating a whole new remote landscape. Try to send your teacher a thank-you email and acknowledge the hard work they've put in to help you on your academic journey thus far.
